Throughout a thirty-year career, she has provided visionary leadership to a variety of 501(c)(3) agencies serving the needs of individuals through emergency housing, education, healthcare, outreach and prevention services. She has designed and implemented cutting-edge programs and secured funding of all types ranging from private donations to multi-tier federal, state, city and foundation grants. The success of her work is due in part to having the ability to view issues from a different perspective while keeping an eye on the larger picture. She holds an MPH in Public Health from the Yale School of Epidemiology and Public Health and attended The Yale School of Management and has an extensive field work experience and education in cultural anthropology. Her background has informed her understanding of global policy, advocacy and community education and provided insight into culture, social norms and diverse populations. She offers an interdisciplinary approach to non-profit management, fund development and presentation, which has proven to be highly effective in today’s climate. Her directorial experience has focused on homelessness, abuse, maternal child health, teen pregnancy, AIDS prevention and psychosocial intervention. The scope of the work has spanned a range of issues that affect individuals’ well-being in particular issues centered around personal and generational trauma. Virginia is a firm believer in the strength in numbers and the coalition model. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead
